Meet Zuzu
Zuzu was rescued in June 2025 after an online post flagged an urgent case. Our team was dispatched to the animal hospital in Lahore where he had been admitted. What we found was deeply distressing.
Zuzu was paralyzed and confined to a cage without access to clean food or drinking water. He was unable to use a litter box and was living in constant pain and distress. The conditions at the facility were severely compromised and inhumane.
Our team led prolonged negotiations with the hospital, which initially resisted releasing him. After persistent effort, we were able to rescue Zuzu and move him into proper medical care.
The most challenging part of Zuzu’s case was not his paralysis, but his shattered spirit. Healing him required more than medical intervention. With weeks of professional treatment, physiotherapy, patience, comfort, and care- along with plenty of treats, many cuddles and a few cuddly stuffed toys- Zuzu slowly began to trust again.
Today, Zuzu doesn’t just walk, he runs. He is strong, curious, and full of life. We are incredibly proud of his recovery and deeply inspired by his resilience, determination, and refusal to give up.
Zuzu is also, unmistakably, a charmer and he knows it.
